With all the out-of-office messages I have been receiving, seems like most people have already started their vacation.

I'm not too far behind, just wanted to share a quick video that made me laugh.
This little guy is actually related to NKPR's own, Andrea Cooper.
She recently shared this video of her nephew Charlie with our office!
What better way to kick off a long weekend than a good giggle?

Hope you enjoy!

Fierce Fashion Friday!

I’m already heading back to NYC. The summer is flying, but before I call it a week and head back to one of my favourite spots in the world, I had to share our latest fashion Friday theme. This week NKPR enjoyed a safari theme and the whole team showed their true colours, or should I say spots? Either way it was a great way to brighten up this dull-weather day!

We had exotic animal prints, cool khakis, inspiring tribal patterns, strappy snake-skin sandals and there were even a few authentic crocodile hunters. My idea of safari chic is runway-inspired complete with light linen button downs, wooden accessories, aviators, a woven fedora and great heels. Check out the picture below to see how wild things got around here today!

Now I’m trading one hectic place for another… good-bye NKPR Safari, hello NYC… bring on the concrete jungle.

Golf Season!

This summer, I have been totally into golf. I am so excited to go to the Canadian Open this weekend. The course is amazing, and it's the first time the Open is being held there in over 40 years. So much history and tradition at St. George's- I can't wait for Saturday!

My picks for this tournament are Mike Weir (Fingers crossed he can win his first Canadian Open) and Sean O'Hair (coached by a Canadian!)

I'm also loving that golfers have been spicing up their fashion. Did you see John Daly's pants at the British Open last weekend? And I love Ian Poulter's style too! Even Tiger showed some fashion flare at the British Open, opting for a purple striped polo. I can't wait to see what's in store fashion-wise for the tournament this weekend!

Who is your favourite fashionable golfer?

8 Weeks to TIFF

It is that time of year again! Soon, the city of Toronto will welcome thousand's of Alist celebrities and media from around the world for the Toronto International Film Festival. This is the second largest international film festival in the world and NKPR has been gearing up for TIFF 2010 for months now. With only eight weeks to go, I'm beginning to get excited about all the things NKPR will be doing throughout the festival.

With all this in mind...here is what I am thinking about in preparation for TIFF 2010:

1. "Dress to Impress"

There are so many events, parties and red carpets happening during TIFF. I love seeing what everyone is wearing! This year, I'm ahead of the game and have already begun planning my wardrobe. My "go to" designers and festival staples will include:

Joeffer Caoc, Greta Constantine, RW&Co, Bottega Sunglasses, my prada leather leggings and my new, soon-to-be-favourite Brian Atwood boots.

2. "Working up a Sweat"

Now that I have an idea what I'll be wearing during the festival, I also have new motivation to get fit! I'm so lucky I work with brands like Brooks and Fila because having great gear makes me want to hit the pavement. Did I mention my new, soon-to-be-favourite Brian Atwood boots are skin tight, thigh-high and zip-up the back of my leg? Hopefully eight weeks of running will make these boots fit perfectly!

3."Let the Tweet Fest Begin"

I have been obsessing over Twitter the last few months and planning the best ways to use it throughout the festival. There are so many cool things happening around the city during TIFF. I can't wait to share all the juciy details, hotspots and celebrity sightings with my followers. Follow me @natashankpr for all the behind-the-scene scoop.

4. "15 Brands, 5 Years, 1 Cause"

This TIFF is particularly important for NKPR because it will be our fifth successful year hosting the IT Lounge, our annual celebrity gifting suite at the Windsor Arms Hotel. I can't wait to make this Lounge our biggest yet! I'm so proud that the IT Lounge will benefit Artists for Peace and Justice! After everything that has happened over the last year, I can't think of a better charitable partner.

Eight weeks and counting...

Have a great weekend,
xo Natasha

Six Months Ago...

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, July 12th, was the six month anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Artists for Peace and Justice is doing important in the country, focusing on education and medical treatments for children affected by the quake. APJ is working directly with the people of Haiti to realize our goals, but there's still so much to do so it's really important that we don't forget about this long forgotten country.

Here is an amazing post from APJ Executive Board member Olivia Wilde:

Hot time, summer in the city!

Wow…heat wave! How have you been coping?

The NKPR team has decided to embrace this summer weather by officially mandating that every Friday for the rest of the summer will be a "themed" day. What better way to enjoy the warm weather than to dress down....in costume! The office had fun with this week's nautical theme. Everyone got into the spirit of the day. We had everything from sassy sailors and fisherman chic to a classic yacht club look! My idea of nautical is dark navy on black. Check out the pictures to see some of the fun we had and stay tuned for next week’s theme.

Remember the summer’s you spent as a kid?! They always seemed to last longer than they do now. We wait the whole year for beautiful weather, why complain when it finally arrives? We just need to be prepared for the heat with a few essentials.

I have some quintessential staples that I need to truly enjoy the summer weather:

- I stay hydrated to keep cool and never leave the office or house without FIJI Water, my favourite bottled water!

-I keep Kiehl's sunscreen with me and wear face cream with SPF 15 everyday.

- Always wear extra goody hair elastics on my wrist. Most women with long hair would agree that hair elastics are an essential summer accessory.

-Keep our office freezer is always stocked with ice cream sandwiches, fudgesickles and my favourite, creamsickles. Who doesn't love cool ice cream on a hot day?

-My final summer staple is simple...great music! I love to update my iPod with a couple "summer playlists". There are always a few tunes that become your summer classics each year. I can think of some that represent different summers for me, and where I was in my life. You know you have a summer classic when you really don't mind listening to the song on 'repeat' all day long! Right now I can't get enough of anything by Bryan Adams.

I'm always looking for great new music to add to my summer playlist, message me on Twitter with your favourite summer songs! @natashankpr
I'd love to hear what's on your playlists.

My new smooth hair!

For a long time, I've been trying to control the frizz on my naturally wavy hair. Today, Salon Escape (www.salonescape.ca) got rid of my frizz forever (or, for at least 4 months!)! I got the Keratin Complex Natural Smoothing Treatment by COPPOLA and I seriously cannot stop touching my hair, it is so silky and smooth!

At first I was a bit nervous because I had heard some rumours about the treatment, but Nicole Braithwaite (the head colourist at Salon Escape) is so knowledgeable and reassured me completely. It seems that people have been confusing the Keratin Smoothing Treatment by Coppola with the Brazilian Keratin treatment, a less natural treatment that contains formaldehyde...ick.

Nikki explained that the Keratin Complex Natural Smoothing Treatment by COPPOLA revitalizes and rejuvenates up to 95% of frizz and curl by restoring and restructuring hair by infusing a special blend of natural keratin (what your hair is made of) deep into the cuticle. I learned that I'll be able to wake up and have smooth hair and I will be able to eliminate the whole straightening process from my routine! And the best part is that this treatment works for everyone: male or female, people with coloured or virgin hair, short or long hair and thick or thin hair.

Here are some before and after shots of me so you can see how amazing this treatment is! I also did a live Twitter feed today while at the salon, so make sure to follow me @natashankpr and read some of the step-by-steps from today!

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at natasha@nkpr.net- I cannot stop raving about this treatment! It's amazing!

Happy Canada Day/Fourth of July!

Happy Canada Day and Happy Fourth of July weekend everyone!

This is the time to celebrate what we love most about our favourite countries. Here's what I am paying homage to this weekend:

CANADA
-The people! A huge shoutout to my three favourite Canadian "Rs", Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling and Rose Crowther!
-The fashion: Canada has some truly inspirational talent that has placed our country on the international fashion radar- Greta Constantine, Joeffer Caoc, Phillip Sparks, Rita Liefhebber and Jay Godfrey to name a few...
-The New York Times Canadian Photo Archive: The images will take your breath way. There are 24,000 images from the past century...this is our history. It is a beautiful documentation of where we came from and who we are as Canadians and it makes me so proud that Toromagazine.com will be bringing a preview of these images, with curator Caitlin Cronenberg, to this year's TIFF.
-The poutine: All I can say is yumm...It's a problem that Smoke's Poutinerie is so close to the NKPR offices...

US
-The food: Because to me, NYC is the food capital of the United States, whether it be the pizzeria on the corner or a meal at Lure (my new favourite New York restaurant!), everything is amazing!
-The department stores: Nothing compares to Neiman Marcus, Saks, Barneys, Bergdorf's and Bendels!
-Apple: One of my favourite companies ever. Everything is so sleek, easy to use and practical. The latest quotes on my Twitter account (@natashankpr)? All from one of my 3 quotes apps- I love my iPad!

I'm spending this weekend in New York, but will show my Canadian pride this Sunday as I cheer on the Jays while they play the Yankees at Yankee Stadium! How are you celebrating your favourite country?

Preview in the Park

It was a chilly, but beautiful day at the Adventure Park for our media launch event. Today, we hosted a media day in Barrie for our sneak preview of Horseshoe Resort’s new Adventure Park. This place is pretty awesome! The way I see it, there are 4 types of Adventurers and the new park has something for EVERYONE!

For the Timid Beginner: practice your short game on the Ridgetop mini-golf course or enjoy the downhill tubing course in both summer and winter.

For the Brave Trailblazer: grab a bike and head for the downhill mountain biking course or skate park to try some tricks.

For the Thrill Seeker: enjoy the view from the tree tops while you trek through the aerial ropes course, climb in a zorbing ball and go for a roll or scale the Park’s rock-climbing wall.

Finally for the Adrenaline Junkie: take a ride on Horseshoe’s new high tech. zipline, where you will fly through the trees at 45 kilometers per hour.

As for me, I think those who know me would agree that most days you would find me playing on the mini putt course.

How about you?

The Adventure Park officially opens Thursday July 1st, just in time for Canada Day! Enjoy…

NKPR Turned 8!

We had so much fun celebrating our 8th Birthday on Tuesday with a Kick A** party! What could be better than spending time with all of our favorite people!!

We spent the whole night munching on mouth-watering food (LOVED the Mac and Cheese from Noble Culinary Creations), sipping on yummy cocktails (My choice? The One Night Lemonade Stand with X-Rated Fusion Liqueur), and in classic NKPR fashion, the best sweet table ever – loved the Baker Street Apple Pies..MMM!!!

Everyone loved the music thanks to Justin, our DJ from Sole Power Productions and were dancing to the old school hip hop thanks to our incredible guest DJ Amy Verner. I couldn’t have been happier with my stunning dress. Thanks to Joeffer Caoc and Kelly Smith who designed this extraordinary piece for me.

I also want to give a big thank you to my NKPR family who are the most dedicated, the most hard-working and the most fun people ever.

Here are some pics from the event.

Talk soon,

xo Natasha
